From deepfake videos to AI-generated news articles and computer-generated influencers, the internet is flooded with synthetic media that looks and feels authentic but is completely manufactured.
This shift is raising serious concerns about trust. As AI gets better at mimicking human behavior, the lines between genuine and artificial are blurring. The result is a media landscape where trust is fragile and truth is harder to define.
Deepfakes are one of the most visible examples of AI’s power to deceive. These are videos altered using machine learning to swap faces, mimic voices, or even generate full-body animations.
